Every year our friends at Dwell hold the largest design event on the west coast, Dwell on Design. Our work with Tillamook recently caught the attention of Stuart Elliott, a longtime ad industry watcher who has been with the New York Times since 1991. We’re very excited to see Tillamook.com and all the other campaign initiatives, including the “Food Loves Tillamook” TV spots by mono and the Loaf Love Tour featured as a Campaign Spotlight. “The key to disruption is going beyond what people expect.” – David Lai
Our CEO/Creative Director, David Lai, was invited to the WIRED Business Conference in June, where he was interviewed by Porsche along with Matt Jarvis, 72andSunny’s Managing Director and Fred Bullock, HP’s VP of Marketing.
David was asked to comment on disrupting the marketplace with innovation, what instincts to follow for success and how passion drives business. The interviews can be viewed on WIRED.com as well as WIRED’s most recent issue, “The Web is Dead.”
Juergen Nogai (Photographer), Steve Frykholm (Creative Director, Herman Miller), and David Lai (Creative Director, Hello Design).
We’ve been on a photo shoot all week with Herman Miller. We’re collaborating with Juergen Nogai – longtime partner of renowned architectural photographer, Julius Shulman, who exposed the world to West Coast modernist architecture.
Juergen’s partnership with Shulman began in 2000, where they produced a series of architectural and fine art photography such as their famous portrayal of Richard Neutra’s Kaufmann House, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the Case Study House series in Los Angeles. Much of their work was featured in magazines and books including Taschen’s Case Study Houses, as well as the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times.
We’ve been observing spaces through the lens of Nogai and Frykholm, and seeing how the dimensions of architecture and furniture come together to create a home.
