To kickoff our new relationship with Tillamook Cheese, we took a trip up to Oregon to learn how they make their great tasting cheese. After stopping by Stumptown Coffee in Portland, we headed towards the beautiful coast to visit Tillamook’s cheese factory. Since Tillamook is a farmer-owned company, we got to visit a dairy farm and meet some cows in person. We also had some tasty squeaky cheese and ice cream. Here are some highlights from our trip.

We joined the rocket team in Black Rock Desert, Nevada to witness the rocket’s liftoff, which successfully proved that eight high school students with Sony VAIO laptops can launch a rocket into space. Here are photos we captured on launch day, as well as a video of the rocket’s successful launch.

For their Loaf Love Tour, Tillamook recently sawed VW buses in half to imitate cheese loaves, then drove the buses across the country giving cheese and delicious recipes to the people. We can’t wait to start on the fresh, innovative projects we’ll be creating with them in the future.

HermanMiller.com was selected as one of the 126 winners out of over 2,300 entries submitted to the AIGA 365/31. The selected projects will be showcased at the AIGA National Design Center in New York this September, and travel across the country to AIGA Chapters and student groups next year.

We’re honored to have our work become part of the AIGA Design Archives and anticipate getting our copy of their Design Annual. Congratulations to all who worked on the project.

We were especially intrigued with Monitor Support products. Imagine how productive I’d be with eight screens. It’d be like “mega-desk” from The Office.

Last week we were in Seoul for one of our clients. We visited some cool places in different parts of the city including Insadong, hub of traditional antiques and crafts, and got some shopping and sightseeing done in Myeongdong, center of fashion and nightlife.

Compass System Visualizer tool we designed for Herman Miller’s new line of modular systems.

Healthcare facilities operate in a constantly changing environment. We launched Compass System with Herman Miller to provide solutions for healthcare organizations in managing their spaces. Compass addresses evolving healthcare facility conditions with a rail system that allows components to be adjusted, modified, and re-utilized over and over.

We launched a Compass System Visualizer tool to help users understand the product in a visual, responsive way. Users can explore the systems in different room setups and watch components interactively fit into setups like an exam room or emergency room. This week we launched the new website for Geiger International, a high-quality wood furnishings company. The visually driven site emphasizes Geiger’s legacy of craftsmanship by showcasing their line of products including casegoods, wood desking, and seating. We designed the site with a focus on better user experience, enabling architects and designers to quickly access images, product literature, and specs. As part of the Herman Miller family, Geiger shares the same values and commitment to quality of materials and sustainability that is reflected in every product, down to the detail of the wood grain.
